A silver road? Oh, yes! Follow the historical tracks of this valuable metal in the Ore Mountains – and your eyes will light up. Even today you can follow the former path the silver once took from the mines to the cities - on and along the Saxon-Bohemian Silver Road. Along the 275 kilometres from Zwickau to Dresden you will discover more than 30 visitor mines as well as numerous kilometres of educational mining trails. The mountain towns with their magnificent hall churches and patrician houses also lie on the historic lifeline of the Ore Mountains. The silver ribbon, symbol of the Silver Road, connects these contemporary witnesses and keeps the customs and craftsmanship alive.
