Always on the first Sunday in June, the Ore Mountains take part in the Germany-wide UNESCO World Heritage Day with the Mining Experience Day.
This year, the silver city of Freiberg invites you to celebrate the Mining Experience Day. On 04.06.2023 visitors can discover the diversity of our world heritage from 2 pm in the immediate vicinity of Freudenstein Castle and the Freiberg Tourist Information. On the World Heritage Mile, mining associations will present themselves, with crafts, art and culture from the 22 World Heritage components of the Mining Region Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří. Whether exploring the silver city of Freiberg together with the miner Tatock or doing sports at the World Heritage Skate Day at the Freiberg Castle Square from 2 pm, there is a lot to experience for young and old. There will be music at the joint World Heritage Day concert from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Saxony State Mining Music Corps from Schneeberg, the Saxonia Freiberg Mining Music Corps and the Olbernhau City Music Corps at Freudenstein Castle in Freiberg.
