In winter you can enjoy here amazing winter sports facilities. A double chairlift and various slopes make skiers happy. There is also a natural toboggan run which is over 1000 m long.In summer you will find many black woodpeckers, barn owls and much more in the nature reserve which is located at and around Hemmschuh. But either the flora should not be underestimated. Especially the woodruff can be found here. Hikers can test the numerous trails which are leading through Bohemia.
On the Hemmschuh you will find a stamp point (next to the wood hut - upper station on the ski lift) that identifies the summit as one of the destinations of the "14 eight-thousanders" tour. You can get all the information about this popular tour at the Altenberg Tourist Information Office.
