The Ore Mountains Christmas Land has traditions that are not known everywhere and is happy to share them with you. The "Mettenschicht", for instance: the last shift underground before Christmas is also the miners' celebration of the end of the year and is duly celebrated. In almost all of the region's more than 20 show mines and in many towns and villages, you can expect hearty miners' music, "Speckfettbemm" sandwiches and mulled wine. The transition from winter and Christmas to the pre-Lent period is marked by Candlemas. With traditional delicacies and music, the light is enjoyed together once again before it's "Lights out" in the regions villages; enjoy these festive traditions - enjoy the Ore Mountains.
