Buchholz mining landscape: Tin|Uranium

The mining landscape, located southwest of Buchholz, stands witness to the tin mining that occurred here from the 15th to the late-18th century in the middle of a silver-mining landscape. In 1495, mining activity lead to the founding of the mining town “St. Katharinenberg im Buchholz”, which grew in competition with the neighbouring mining town of Annaberg.
