Various bus lines run by Regionalverkehr Erzgebirge GmbH (RVE) now operate on weekends and public holidays and invite you on exciting excursions by bus and train.
The buses run every 2 hours and offer connections to the Erzgebirgsbahn. You now also have comfortable and convenient public transport option to get to the Ore Mountains for a weekend excursion from the Zwickau, Leipzig and Chemnitz region.
In the summer months you can simply "climb aboard" to the Ore Mountains – Vogtland Kammweg ridge trail for a nice hike, or you could catch a bus directly to the Geyerscher Wald or Fichtelberg ski areas in winter. Coming from Chemnitz, you can change at Ehrenfriedersdorf and take the bus directly to the Greifenstein area or to Oberwiesenthal every 2 hours. But you can also explore any number of sights along the bus routes, e.g. the "Heimatecke" Waschleithe showground and much more! Click here for the timetables and the bus lines.
We hope you have great fun exploring the region by bus and making many exciting discoveries!
